  • The main actor could have become unstable.
  • Ensuring she didn’t fall back into the trap again.
  • Females watching it are given tips about what to do and how to hide it.
  • It might not be possible for filmmakers and documentarians to portray anorexia in a way that avoids triggering vulnerable viewers.
  • The film’s light-hearted tone and detailed depiction of the extreme food-avoidance behaviors are a dangerous combination that could be both glamourizing and triggering.
  • At the end of the movie one might feel that recovery is made to look easy, when it isn’t at all.
  • Others may feel that the movie is a prime example of companies exploiting severe mental illnesses,  using the same old white manic pixie trope.

  1. This needs an explanation at the start to explain what ethics are and what your task was.

    At the end you need a summary that explains what you learnt about ethical issues in the film To the Bone and how these were dealt with by the producers.
